HUTTON PARK
All students at Hutton Park (Key stage 4/Upper Key Stage 3) study English and Mathematics to GCSE standard along with Functional Skills in English and Mathematics up to Level 2. They also have the opportunity to access a Science (including ICT) programmes of study up to Level 2.
In addition, full time students will have the opportunity to follow two vocational options. The vocational curriculum is designed to be progressive and modular in construction, so as to accommodate in year admissions and provide for the wide range of abilities. All courses are taught by CAVA qualified tutors and assessors and progress up to Level 2.
The vocational curriculum is designed to be challenging and engaging, allowing students to re-engage in learning and develop practical skills in a range of subject areas of their choice. They will gain a general insight into the industry sectors, while developing abilities in a range of practical skills. Our vocational programmes provide a foundation for further study post 16, such as apprenticeships or as a route to employment. The majority of our Year 11 leavers gain places at local colleges and Post 16 providers that support the continuation of vocational study, in an environment that understands and caters for their needs.
We offer a wide range of vocational courses: Construction, Catering, Childcare, Sport, Art, Motor Mechanics and Hair and Beauty which are all supported by a comprehensive personal development programme including: Health and Safety, CV Writing, Interview Skills. PHSE and careers awareness.
Students in Year 11 receive substantial impartial careers advice and guidance to support their transition to Post 16 destinations after Rotherham Aspire.
Students joining us late in this phase will be put on a pathway to help support sitting of the GCSE subjects they want to complete.
Additionally, all students have access to an enrichment programme designed to build cultural capital amongst students and address some of the outcomes of the Preparing for Adulthood (P4A) programme.

Finally, throughout their time with Aspire students will be connected to a dedicated Learning Mentor when needed, they will work closely with students and home, to help remove any barriers to their education.
