Menu and Food Information for Parents and Carers

All students will be offered a range of hot and cold foods for lunch on a daily basis, all prepared by our experienced and qualified catering team.

In addition, students at our Rawmarsh and Catcliffe sites will have the opportunity to enjoy a nurture breakfast.

Parents/Guardians are encouraged to read the Aspire Food Safety Policy on the website in the policies section.

Curriculum

  • As part of our Vocational Education Program, Key Stage 4 students can choose to study a national qualification in catering and hospitality, which will include preparing dishes that they can sample along with members of the teaching team.

  • On occasions students in our primary setting will have the opportunity to take part in baking lessons.

  • In both cases all ingredients are provided for them by the school.

Food Allergens

The school takes allergens seriously and complies fully with Natasha’s Law, and all prepacked food for direct sale (PPDS) is fully labeled. Parents/Guardians must provide specific information to Aspire regarding any specific dietary or allergenic requirements for their child, which must be accompanied with the relevant supporting medical evidence before a special menu can be provided for the student.

How to Apply for Free School Meals

The information you provide will be used to check if you are in receipt of a qualifying benefit and, if you are on Universal Credit, that your earnings do not exceed the threshold. If you claim Universal Credit, your earnings will be assessed from up to three of your last Universal Credit assessment periods. If you are eligible, RMBC will notify us. Your child will receive free school meals and the school will receive extra funding.
