Admissions

Transitions for all our students can be a very anxious time

  1. Admissions to Rotherham Aspire PRU are via referral from the Local Authority when a child is permanently excluded from their mainstream school.
  2. Individual mainstream schools can commission a place for a child they consider to be at risk of permanent exclusion through the partnership arrangement.
  3. Students from out of Rotherham Local Authority who have accessed a PRU will admitted into Aspire for a period os assessment.
  4. RMBC can commission a specialist place for a child with an Education Health and Care Plan for Social Emotional and Mental Health.
  5. Schools can commission a place for a student outside of the partnership.

Students at the PRU have access back to mainstream schools via two routes: the school partnership route or the Rotherham Schools' Fair Access Panel. To be considered for both these routes students have to undergo a readiness for re-integration assessment and be sponsored by the Headteacher of the PRU.

Our students may also be considered for specialist provision through the annual review process when an Education Health and Care Plan has been issued.
